No doctor would have prescribed that amount, and nearly everyone would be expected to suffer withdrawal effects when stopped. Exacerbating the problem is your very real pain that still needs treatment, and the depression you're experiencing. Tramadol has a moderate anti-depressant effect, so you're.

I presume you mean a prescribed drug? I have a few Mirtazepine left I could take, wonder if my Doc would prescribe. Thank you for that prompt reply and advice Les.
It's so difficult to get and appointment and with the doctor of my choice. I'm wide awake worrying about calling the doctors at 8AM. Hiya. Hi Les, hope you're well. I'm sick of seeing different Doctor every time, that's probably why I'm not sorted yet.
Are there any psychiatrists who will prescribe tramadol for depression. I have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder and have tried multiple medication that have not helped. I was prescribed Tramadol for pain after a UTI and I felt like a new person (without the feeling of being high on drugs). I have been obtaining.

Tramadol is also not to be used in efforts to wean addict patients from opiate drags, nor to be used to manage long-term opiate addiction.
Tramadol is NOT sanctioned as a controled substance by the FDA, like Xanax and diazapam are. The feed back I am getting from EVERY severe resistant suffer is VERY positive. Many have been taking Tramadol for their Resistant Severe depression for over two years and if prescribed and taken.

He did not worry about me taking too much because I will not change a doseage regardless of how I feel without calling and he does get on the phone. Just because you get addicted does not mean you cannot stop and in this case there is not the associated psychological addiction many "street" drugs have.
Ultram is a brand name for the prescription drug known as tramadol. This drug is classified as an opioid analgesic - a pain reliever - and is not FDA approved to treat depression. However, some people do say that using it helps them get relief from their depressive symptoms, despite the fact that there is no scientific proof.
In 1996, the Food and Drug Administration released a statement that included, among other things, warnings about addictions. This drug is not recommended for those with addiction histories. Since Ultram can cause a feeling of euphoria in patients, there is a real risk of addiction or dependence.
Some side effects for Ultram include, but are not limited to:
Overdosing on Ultram can be fatal, so be sure to follow your doctor's instructions exactly even if the drug doesn't appear to be working. Some individuals are simply immune to the pain relieving effects.

I agree with Chuck. While a doctor could within reason prescribe just about anything off-label, Tramadol is a pain-killer used in the management of moderate to severe pain and withdrawal from it can be a real b. bear.
