Well I contacted him, he said he won't prescribe anything else, thanks to all these pill heads trying to get their 'fix' most likely. which I tried already of course. I was told to take ibuprofen. Felt like I was being told to deal with it and I guess I have no other choice now.

Do not suffer through this! Call doc & l him tramadol isn't agreeing with you and your can't deal with the pain. Some people like this med, personally, I believe ibuprofen works better than this, with less side affects.
For actually relieving serious pain, you need something like hydrocodone. Unfortunay doctors are prescribing it more and more because of the hysteria over opioids. Tramadol is practically useless for relieving pain; I was prescribed some after some minor surgery and found that taking ordinary Tylenol worked about as well.

My question would be is this a normal prescription for my situation? And what should I do to remedy this situation? Thank you in advance. I am still in extreme pain and now I have a headache and feel nauseous. I just had my wisdom teeth removed the doctor prescribed me 50mg tramadol. One of these sockets is in such severe pain idk how I will be able to sleep tonight. I took one per the recommended dosage it did absoluy nothing for the pain so I took another two hrs later. I haven't took too much pain medication in my life, I was prescribed vicoden once and it worked wonders for my neck pain.

Over the counter drugs give me more relief, however my pain is still severe. I was advised Tramadol gives you relief after an hour. Tramadol makes me feel worse. Not the case for me. I have osteoarthritus in my hip and also my neck. I think my meds will have to be changed, as if a certain med does not work, why take it?.
Have you tried going through your dentist?

Don't fool around with this med yourself. Frankly, it doesn't always work well and causes the side effects you are having. To sleep tonight, I'd call the Doc or whoever is taking call for him/her. The dosage or the medicine itself can be changed, but only by the Doc. Tramadol is an opiod pain med.

Best to contact your Dr., that's the remedy.
Hi, Tramadol isn't always tolerated well, some people experience headaches & nausea, such as my mum, and need an alternative analgesic. Please speak to your doctor or dentist about a different prescription.
been there done that. U need to call u r dentist. He will give u strip of gause soaked n a deading agent that u will pack the socket with and get instant relief. That is where the blood either didn't clot or was dislodged and u have an exposed nerve. Sounds like u have what is called a dry socket. No amount of pain med will help.
Bummer, yes, it is because of all the abuse. Tramadol is a synthetic, not very effective, thing is, it is way up on the abuse list as well so, go figure.
Tramadol has become the doctors new hydro all of them only want to prescribe that now I get more relief from 2 advil. Unfortunay Im one of those people. It's a sad world when pain medication doesn't relieve pain anymore but here we are. Tramadol is NOT a opioid it is synthetic and dose nothing for some people.Tramadol oral surgery
