View All SectionsClose All Sections. DESCRIPTION. Tramadol hydrochloride is a centrally acting synthetic analgesic in an extended-release formulation. The chemical name is (±) cis-2-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-1-(3-methoxyphenyl Tramadol hydrochloride is a centrally acting synthetic analgesic in an extended-release.

The mean (%CV) pharmacokinetic parameter values for tramadol hydrochloride ER tablet 200 mg administered once daily and tramadol hydrochloride immediate-release 50 mg administered every six hours are provided in Table 1.

Tramadol is extensively metabolized after oral administration.

Tramadol HCl Extended-Release Tablet exposes patients and other users to the risks of opioid addiction, abuse, and misuse, which can lead to overdose and death. Assess each patient's risk prior to prescribing Tramadol HCl Extended-Release Tablets, and monitor all patients regularly for the development of these.

Individually titrate Tramadol HCl Extended-Release Tablets by 100 mg every five days to a dose that provides adequate analgesia and minimizes adverse reactions. The maximum daily dose of Tramadol HCl Extended-Release Tablets is 300 mg per day.

Concomitant use of opioids with benzodiazepines or other central nervous system (CNS) depressants, including alcohol, may result in profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma, and death [see Warnings and Precautions (5.6), Drug Interactions (7) ]

If unacceptable opioid-related adverse reactions are observed, consider reducing the dosage.

I work as a med tech and about 4 yrs ago we were told we had to lock them in the narcotics box.

So they say I have Fibro, I think that is garbage and working on a diagnosis through research . I was blessed with shots of tramadol 1time a week for 3 weeks , it helped me get through a tight period of having fieldtrips that were over a mile long. I could barely stand much less walk and a mile (no way).

There was a guy on here a few weeks ago, he took 8 x 200mg before bedtime, that is totally over the top. And you cannot just stop taking Tramadol without side-effects.
