Sorry Mary I have no experience of slow release Tramadol - I didn't even know it existed and I am wondering what the benefit of slow release is? regards Richard I didn't like the extended release becauseI I felt it took the power of only taking them when I needed them away from me. In hindsight though.

Hi maryhow mean does you mum take at atime because you can cut it down and take paracetamol with it.

it does sound like slight withdrawal. The dose will work the first day but if it is a lot less than she was taking then she will feel withdrawal symptoms. In hindsight though they may have been better because I ended up addicted to them!! Which is how I know about the horrible withdrawal!! Xx. HI AGAIN WELL I TAKE 50MG OF TRADOL IN A CAPSUL 2X4 A DAY + 2X4 OF 500MG OF PARASETAMOL, SO I THING WAITING 12HOUR FOR EACH TABLET IS FAR APART AND SHE IS GETTING WITHDRAWALS WHICH WILL MAKE HER SLEEPY I HOPE THIS MAY HELP MICK.

I've tried.again, slow withdrawal, even opening the tablet up and dividing the powder! Because of stresses in my life at the moment I've just given up yesterday and gone back on 6x50g tabs a day! I hate this drug so much and hope to try and ween off again soon.

Should you be taking extended release (ER) drugs? Iodine

Should you be taking extended release (ER) drugs? Iodine

How do I know if ER drugs are right for me? If you are taking prescription meds every day, you should work with your physicians to ensure you're taking the right form of medication for you. This may mean tracking your side effects and getting blood tests to get a better handle on what the highest and lowest.

With most meds, the amount of the drug in the bloodstream peaks quickly after it’s taken, but is then flushed away within the course of a few hours or so. This makes how much of the drug is “available” in the body variable at any point in time. One of the biggest downsides to taking medication is the potential side effects. Sometimes, you’re exposed to too much of the drug, which can mean more nasty side effects, while at other times, there isn’t enough for it to be therapeutic.

As their name suggests, ER drugs take longer to clear from the body than traditional or immediate-release (IR) drugs.
